Vivo X3: is already time for bezel-less phones?

By: Andrew V. | 19 February 2013

Imagine a smartphone that is different from any other you’ve seen so far; so thin that you’d hardly feel it in your pocket, with an outline that resembles a futuristic design from some sci-fi movie: that phone could be Vivo X3. The manufacturer of this unusual handset is BBK, a relatively unknown chinese company, and these guys could beat Samsung and Apple on something that tickles the mind of any mobile technologies’ fan: a bezel-less smartphone.

When it comes to a topic like that rumors are countless. Just one year ago we heard rumors that Motorola may have been preparing to launch something like that within the end of 2012. It never happened. Now, according to our source, we could see the bezel-less design turn into a real thing within the end of 2013, or at least see the first concrete step in that direction with removal of any kind of bezel on the screen sides. Judging by the informations leaked about Vivo X3 it should be made up by two thin ‘layers’ : display and the rear body; plus BBK’s handset should come with top specs:

  • Full HD display
  • Quad-core S4 Pro CPU
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Android 4,1 Jellybean
  • 13 MP camera
  • 32 GB of internal storage
  • 2200 mAh battery

The specs are impressive, even if that battery could be a problem. Although if a device like this is really going to debut in 2013, that’s gonna be a huge step. It’s still a rumor but is not to forget that last year BBK brought us a 6.55 mm thick phone, so they definitely have a thing for compact devices and we have a reason to believe that these rumors about Vivo X3 aren’t just a hoax.
